Indige-Spheres to Empowerment is a federally incorporated non-profit organization dedicated to the health and well-being of indigenous peoples domestically and globally. We believe that the revitalization of culture and the rekindling of the indigenous spirit is linked to embracing the situated knowledge of individuals and communities.
As we begin and continue to weave our narratives of the indigenous oratory and our contemporary experiences of today, we may engage in a process of health and healing that profoundly moves us in a direction of authentic healing that is rooted in the fluidity of our traditions and cultures - Mino-Biimadziiwin.
We have a specialized interest in working with indigenous youth, indigenous women, residential school survivors (Truth and Reconciliation), Sixties Scoop (child welfare system) and community research streams.
We integrate empowerment theatre, PATH and MAPS, LEGO facilitation, story-telling, mask making, arts and crafts, videography/photography and yoga with percussion and song into our work. We also support land-based initiatives practiced in the communities. We provide sessions that can be geared towards band staff and front-line workers, church groups, classrooms, elders, local radio shows, treatment centres and programs, women's shelters/groups, youth sessions and other groups upon request.
If in anyway we can support your initiatives or assist in the development of your program, please feel free to contact us using our Contact Us located on our Indige-Spheres Home Page.
